Areas of Work

Charity Partnerships

We have supported a number of charities over the years (see our charities partner page) where their values and aims align with our priority areas. Our partners have included national charities such as The Princes Trust to great local causes such as, Candelighters, Leeds Community Foundation and Give A Gift. We also have an annual charity of the year partner, this year we've chosen three which are Dementia UK, Alzheimer's Society and Leeds Hospitals Charity, all working towards improving the lives of those with Alzheimer's or Dementia and supporting their families.

Children & Young People

We support initiatives giving opportunities to children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and difficult circumstances, the opportunity to improve their chances of attaining success and to lead fulfilling lives. Everyone deserves a good start in life so we work with a range of partners to raise aspirations of young people locally, nationally and overseas.

Homelessness

As a property-based business, the Park Lane Group is aware of our corporate social responsibility in meeting the needs of those not fortunate enough to benefit from the comforts of a home. This area of work will therefore be a priority with the emergence of our own Housing Association in the pipeline.

This will enable the Foundation to provide high quality, affordable housing and support to those most in need. We will ensure that the properties are low cost rental homes for people who could not otherwise afford them and are allocated to individuals and families whose needs are not adequately met by the commercial housing market.

Overseas

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in Africa, with increased susceptibility to weather shocks creating food insecurity. As a result, the family have provided funding to support the development of housing projects, enabling thousands of people to have clean drinking water, and supporting economic development through micro-finance.

Sport

As the owners of a golf club, we know how powerful sport can be in playing a part of both physical and overall well-being. That’s why we help individuals enjoy sport at a grass roots level by providing free entry to inner city schools via our ‘Access to Golf’ scheme, offer free coaching and donate sports equipment to schools. Our PGA professionals also deliver free lessons and we run our annual schools footgolf tournament. Our aim is to enhance access to the facilities at Leeds Golf Centre to individuals of all backgrounds, irrespective of their golfing ability.
